Ronaldo, who was born as Ronaldo Ruiz Nazario de Lima is a football player from the country of Brazil. He is famous as being one of the greatest football players in history in spite of his young age. In the late 1990’s Ronaldo has acquired numerous awards and recognitions for his playing. He won the award Footballer of the Year twice, the first time in 1997 and again in 2002. He is also only one of two players who have received the FIFA Player of the Year Award a record three times, the other player being fellow Brazillian Zinedine Zidane. Ronaldo currently plays with the Corinthians and he has voiced that he would like to retire by 2011, although he did agree to extend his contract for two more years. I admire Ronaldo not just because of his exceptional football skills, but I also admire him as a person. From what I have seen of him on TV and on interviews, he comes out as a humble and down to earth person who has not let fame get to his head.
