The real estate firm which just sold us our new home referred us to a security services company which he said are home security experts. We did believe him after getting our new house at a really competitive price that both my husband and I still could not believe. The price was lower than our bargained price — it was just a total giveaway. Perhaps a lot of real estate firms are really going for any price offer for their properties. They could not afford a potential buyer to fly away just like that.

The neighborhood looked peaceful and quiet, though we’re not quite sure of our immediate neighbors. They had quite high fences and we could not see through the home easily. Maybe it was just for design purposes. We were not quite sure. The mailman, who was friendly enough to say the first welcoming remarks upon our arrival, was not so welcoming with his message. Apparently we were the fourth in just one year to settle in that house again. When I asked him, he said that it is because the neighborhood is an all time favorite of burglars, and other incidents have even resulted to serious physical injuries.

That was the eeriest welcome! Our sales agent of course would not bother sharing those information to us. Drills for safer homes and the necessity of home security systems

Primarily to promote awareness of the urgent mission to make homes a safer place, me and my school-based organization (I am a teacher of community development in a university) solicit the help of print media, radio and television network for publicity of its services by featuring preventive security measures or personal interviews of those who have experienced a security threat in their homes. The security in homes movement has gained the support of various individuals and organizations who believe in the core thrust of the organization on security measures at home. One such measure is definitely having whatever form of Home Security Systems. Many homes lack the security because the basic things like alarms and necessary sensors are absent. My organization has been a determined advocate of homes at least having DIY Security Systems. We do not get anything from companies who sell security sytems. What we get is the fulfillment that we are contributing in a small way into making homes a safer place. During the our school’s security and safety week, members of my organization conduct various activities in their respective areas we have coordinated with. In one area, a symbolic “burglary drill” is held on the last day of the week to demonstrate what should be done in case a door alarm goes off due to possible burglary. Through this drills, my organization was able to connect with other security and home-safety organizations and service providers. Next year, we are planning to have a tri media campaign to increase public awareness about home security.

Home Safety is important in any home

We live in a gated community, however, you can never rely on just that for security. We have eight beautiful kids who all are fun loving. I can never imagine anything bad happening to them. My wife and I discussed about it already and decided to find ways to add more security to our home. Home security is very important in any home that’s why we decided to put up more locks. Besides adding locks, we also decided to put up home security alarms. This is a really good investment as we can never risk anything bad happening to our home. My neighbors have been using ADT for a long time already so we knew that this is a good thing to do. We feel much safer now. My wife would always tell me how relieved she is. It felt much better knowing that you’re house is safe. Well its supposed to be that way anyway. My sister is now using the same home security system and they felt the same way about it. Its been a good decision and we’ll continue to recommend this to others. No matter what you say, having a secured home always gives you less anxiety. Now, I can just go to work without worrying about my family back home. I just call them once a day unlike before where I’d call them three times a day. Its much better because I can concentrate on my job.
